This week is Identity Theft Awareness Week!
This is a great time to increase your awareness of identity theft and to make sure you are taking steps to protect your identity.
The Federal Trade Commission and their partners work together to share information on what to be aware of and how to help avoid and prevent identity theft.
Visit this link HERE to find out about webinar events presented by the FTC and learn about how you can remain informed.
You will also find a link to videos with topics such as:
- Why Care About Identity Theft?
- 5 Ways to Help Protect Your Identity
- What To Do After a Data Breach
And more!
As a financial coach, another great resource I recommend is www.annualcreditreport.com which provides consumers free access to their full credit reports with each of the three main reporting agencies. Your credit report is a great tool to help you stay aware of any activity on your credit that could be an indication of possible fraud or ID theft.
If you’d like to learn more about how to understand and monitor your credit report, I can help! Together we can review your report so you have a good understanding of how to protect your identity and, if needed, improve your personal credit.
